Potable Water Regulator
- Compact, lightweight design
- High cycle life
- Maintenance free
- No adjustment necessary
|
Application:
Designed and developed to pressurize potable water systems on commercial aircraft, this regulator is adaptable for other pneumatic systems requiring precise pressure control in a compact and lightweight unit.
Features:
The regulator has a very simple design, resulting in extremely high reliability. The spring system consists of a single belleville spring which contributes both regulation and closing forces and enables a low profile regulator envelope. The pressure sensing element of the regulator is a silicone rubber diaphragm which is molded integral with the Belleville spring retainer and poppet. As a result, the component contains only two moving parts. The regulator has excellent lockup and low internal leakage performance, by virtue of a silicone rubber insert in the poppet, which interfaces with a metal seat.
The regulator is contained in an aluminum alloy housing designed to sustain inlet pressures as high as 300 psi. Because of the simplicity of its design, the regulator can be factory set to a wide range of outlet pressure and flow rates just by selecting different combinations of Belleville spring and orifice. A number of versions of this regulator have been in service on large commercial aircraft for over 25 years.
