Passenger Oxygen System
Passenger, Paratrooper
and Medical Oxygen supply
Removable ballistic protection
Portable
Application:
The Passenger Oxygen System (POS) is designed to supply 100% oxygen to various users including passengers, paratroopers and the medical community. With it's 25 Liter liquid oxygen capacity, attachment of the POS distribution system and a personal oxygen regulator, the POS can supply 100% oxygen to 10 passengers for a total of 6 hours at 25,000 ft or 13 hours at 25,000 ft with the use of a diluter demand oxygen regulator.
Features:
The POS utilizes a MIL-PRF-25961 (CRU-50) LOX fill valve and a M25666/5, 25 Liter LOX converter to store the liquid oxygen. The liquid oxygen is converted to gaseous oxygen thru an integral heat exchanger. Gaseous oxygen is then available to either the PAX (at 75 ± 15 psig) or medical (at 50 ± 5 psig) outlets. LOX quantity is displayed on a battery powered LED digital display that flashes to warn the user of low oxygen quantity.
Four locations of aircraft tie-down shackles allow the POS to be mounted to the aircraft floor during flight. Handles are provided making the POS portable. Removable ballistic armor surrounds the POS on 5 sides, providing NIJ-STD-0108, Level III, ballistic protection.
The POS can be utilized as an expanded oxygen source for paratrooper operations, delivering up to 7x's the current oxygen capacity (21,500 gaseous Liters available with POS). The system interfaces with the Twin-50, PHAOS and PHANTOM jump bottle systems.
